“And Stay Out!” by Bob Al-Greene

AL-GREENE: “For me, a cartoon, like a photograph, is all about the emotion, and emotion lives in the face. If there’s not an expressive human (or human-like) face somewhere in the cartoon, it loses impact immediately. Sometimes it’s enough to base an entire cartoon around a face. I did this cartoon, about undercover chat room cops, for a national competition, so I broke it way down for maximum impact. I think this is probably the most obvious example of comic book influence – just look at that dimple chin. All he needs is a big ‘S’ on his chest.”
